Educational Q&A

Agni is praised as the universal mediator of sacrifice: offerings gain sacred efficacy because Fire functions as the ‘mouth’ that receives and transmits them to the gods, linking human duty (yajña) with cosmic order.

Mandapāla addresses Agni directly in a reverential invocation, establishing Agni’s authority and role before making a plea or request, grounding the appeal in Agni’s sacrificial and cosmic function.
