Shloka 45

त॑ पार्थेनाभये दत्ते नमुचेर्भ्रातरं मयम्‌ । न हन्तुमैच्छद्‌ दाशा्: पावको न ददाह च,अर्जुनके अभयदान देनेपर भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णने नमुचिके भ्राता मयासुरको मारनेकी इच्छा त्याग दी और अग्निदेवने भी उसे नहीं जलाया

taṁ pārthenābhaye datte namucer bhrātaraṁ mayam | na hantum aicchad dāśārhaḥ pāvako na dadāha ca ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Als Pārtha (Arjuna) ihm Furchtlosigkeit gewährt hatte, begehrte Dāśārha (Śrī Kṛṣṇa) nicht länger, Maya, den Bruder Namucis, zu töten; und selbst Pāvaka (Agni) verbrannte ihn nicht. So zügelte das Schutzgelübde die Gewalt und wahrte das Dharma: die gewährte Zuflucht zu ehren.
