The verse highlights the dharmic ideal that a child’s flourishing is supported by conscientious guardianship—through auspicious rites, disciplined care, and a wholesome environment—so that growth becomes steady and luminous, like the waxing moon.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇaśva, from the child’s birth, performed and arranged auspicious observances and proper care; consequently the boy prospered and grew day by day, compared poetically to the moon increasing during the bright fortnight.
