Educational Q&A

Sacred places gain enduring sanctity through righteous events and become sources of purification and merit for all—so much so that they can be remembered and honored under a distinctive name that preserves the moral significance of what occurred there.

A brāhmaṇa declares a future outcome: the set of tīrthas being discussed will henceforth be celebrated throughout the world as ‘Women’s Tīrthas’ and will function as especially meritorious, purifying pilgrimage sites even for wise sages.
