Chapter 213
परस्पर वर्तमानान् ट्रुपदस्यात्मजां प्रति । यो नोअ्नुप्रविशेन््मोहात् स वै द्वादशवार्षिकम्
paraspara-vartamānān trupadasyātmajāṃ prati | yo no 'nupraviśen mohāt sa vai dvādaśa-vārṣikam ||
Arjuna sprach: „Wir wechseln uns der Reihe nach ab im Umgang mit der Tochter Drupadas; wer—aus Verblendung—eintritt und in die einem anderen zugewiesene Zeit eindringt, der soll wahrlich eine Strafe von zwölf Jahren erleiden.“
अजुन उवाच
The verse emphasizes disciplined conduct and respect for agreed boundaries: even within intimate family arrangements, dharma is upheld through clear rules, self-restraint, and a defined consequence for violations committed through moha (delusion).
Arjuna states a rule for the brothers regarding Trupada’s daughter (Draupadi): as they relate to her in turn, any brother who intrudes upon another’s allotted time—out of delusion—must accept a twelve-year penalty.
