Chapter 213

कृताभिषेकैर्विद्वद्धिर्नियतै: सत्पथि स्थितै: । शुशुभे5तीव तदू राजन्‌ गड्जाद्वारं महात्मभि:,गंगाके तटपर जब अलग-अलग अग्नियाँ प्रज्वलित हो गयीं और सन्मार्गमें स्थित एवं मन-इन्द्रियोंको वशमें रखनेवाले विद्वान्‌ ब्राह्मणलोग स्नान करके फूलोंके उपहार चढ़ाकर जब पूर्वोक्त अग्नियोंमें आहुति दे चुके, तब उन महात्माओंके द्वारा उस गंगाद्वार नामक तीर्थकी शोभा बहुत बढ़ गयी

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: kṛtābhiṣekair vidvadbhir niyataiḥ satpathi sthitaiḥ | śuśubhe 'tīva tadā rājan gaṅgādvāraṁ mahātmabhiḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: O König, damals erstrahlte Gaṅgādvāra überaus, geschmückt von großherzigen Männern—gelehrt und diszipliniert—die das rituelle Bad und die Weihehandlungen vollzogen hatten und unbeirrt auf dem Pfad der Rechtschaffenheit standen. Die Szene zeigt, wie Selbstbeherrschung und korrektes Ritualhandeln, verbunden mit Wissen und sittlicher Lebensführung, einen heiligen Ort verschönern und die geistige Atmosphäre der Gemeinschaft erhöhen.
