Educational Q&A

The verse underscores that true worth is grounded in blameless character and auspicious qualities. Draupadī is praised as ‘anavadya’ (irreproachable), suggesting ethical excellence and social honor rooted in virtue and rightful lineage, not merely external beauty.

Yudhiṣṭhira is describing Draupadī, emphasizing her faultless nature, slender waist, and extraordinary lotus-like fragrance that carries for a krośa, and identifying her as the sister of Dhṛṣṭadyumna—thereby affirming her noble identity and suitability within the unfolding marital and alliance context.
