अर्जुनस्य लक्ष्यवेधः
Arjuna’s Hitting of the Target at the Svayaṃvara
तापयामास तॉल्लोकान् सदेवासुरमानुषान् । तपसोग्रेण महता नन्दयिष्यन् पितामहान्,उसने अपने पितरोंको आनन्दित करनेके लिये अत्यन्त उग्र तपस्याद्वारा देवता, असुर और मनुष्योंसहित उन सभी लोकोंको संतप्त कर दिया
tāpayāmāsa tāl lokān sadevāsuramānuṣān | tapasogreṇa mahatā nandayiṣyan pitāmahān ||
Vasiṣṭha sprach: Um seine Ahnen zu erfreuen, übte er eine überaus wilde und gewaltige Askese; durch die Glut dieses Tapas sengte er all jene Welten—zusammen mit Göttern, Asuras und Menschen.
