बक-राक्षसस्य आह्वानम् तथा वृक्षयुद्धम्

Summons of Baka and the Tree-Weapon Engagement

तच्छुत्वा भीमसेनस्य मातृस्नेहात्‌ प्रजल्पितम्‌ । कारुण्येन मनस्तप्तं गमनायोपचक्रमे

tac chrutvā bhīmasenasya mātṛsnehāt prajalpitam | kāruṇyena manas taptaṃ gamanāyopacakrame ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Als Bhīmasena jene Worte hörte—von der Mutter in mütterlicher Zuneigung gesprochen—füllte sich sein Herz mit Mitleid und brannte innerlich vor Schmerz. Sogleich machte er sich bereit, selbst aufzubrechen (um Wasser zu holen).“
