Educational Q&A

The verse highlights ethical discernment: society recognizes intentional wrongdoing (pāpa-karma) and names it as adharma when power is used to engineer another’s destruction. It underscores accountability—harm planned in secret still becomes morally legible through its consequences.

In the aftermath of a dangerous incident connected with a constructed dwelling, the citizens loudly conclude that Duryodhana deliberately arranged it to destroy the Pāṇḍavas, expressing public outrage and suspicion of a plotted assassination.
