Ādi-parva Adhyāya 141: Bhīma–Hiḍimba Confrontation and Protective Discourse
ततो वातसहां नावं यन्त्रयुक्तां पताकिनीम् । ऊर्मिक्षमां दृढां कृत्वा कुन्तीमिदमुवाच ह,उन्होंने एक सुदृढ़ नाव बनवायी, जिसे चलानेके लिये उसमें यन्त्र- लगाया गया था। वह वायुके वेग और लहरोंके थपेड़ोंका सामना करनेमें समर्थ थी। उसमें झंडियाँ और पताकाएँ फहरा रही थीं। उस नावको तैयार कराके विदुरजीने कुन्तीसे कहा--
tato vātasahāṃ nāvaṃ yantrayuktāṃ patākinīm | ūrmikṣamāṃ dṛḍhāṃ kṛtvā kuntīm idam uvāca ha |
Dann ließ er ein festes Boot bauen, mit Vorrichtungen zu seiner Führung versehen, mit Fahnen und Bannern geschmückt, fähig, der Gewalt des Windes und dem Stoß der Wellen standzuhalten. Als das Boot bereit war, sprach Vidura zu Kuntī wie folgt—
