जतुगृहदाहः — The Burning of the Lac House and the Pāṇḍavas’ Concealed Escape

स निरीक्ष्य महाबाहु: सर्वतो रड्भजमण्डलम्‌ । प्रणाम द्रोणकृपयोर्नात्यादृतमिवाकरोत्‌,उस समय महाबाहु कर्णने रंगमण्डपमें सब ओर दृष्टि डालकर द्रोणाचार्य और कृपाचार्यको इस प्रकार प्रणाम किया, मानो उनके प्रति उसके मनमें अधिक आदरका भाव नहो

sa nirīkṣya mahābāhuḥ sarvato raṅgamaṇḍalam | praṇāma droṇakṛpayor nātyādṛtam ivākarot ||

Nachdem er die Arena nach allen Seiten hin gemustert hatte, erwies der mächtigarmige Karṇa Droṇa und Kṛpa seine Ehrerbietung—doch tat er es in einer Weise, die nur wenig echte Verehrung erkennen ließ.
