जतुगृहदाहः — The Burning of the Lac House and the Pāṇḍavas’ Concealed Escape

सहजं कवचं बिश्रत्‌ कुण्डलोद्योतितानन: । सभरनुर्बद्धनिस्त्रिंश: पादचारीव पर्वत:,उसने शरीरके साथ ही उत्पन्न हुए दिव्य कवचको धारण कर रखा था। दोनों कानोंके कुण्डल उसके मुखको उद्धासित कर रहे थे। हाथमें धनुष लिये और कमरमें तलवार बाँधे वह वीर पैरोंसे चलनेवाले पर्वतकी भाँति सुशोभित हो रहा था

sahajaṃ kavacaṃ bibhrat kuṇḍalodyotitānanaḥ | sabhānuḥ baddha-nistriṃśaḥ pādacārīva parvataḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Er trug den göttlichen Harnisch, der mit ihm zugleich bei der Geburt erschienen war; die Ohrringe an seinen Ohren ließen sein Antlitz erstrahlen. Mit dem Bogen in der Hand und dem Schwert am Gürtel glich jener Held einem Berg, der zu Fuß schreitet—gewaltig, strahlend und ehrfurchtgebietend.
