Vāraṇāvata-prasaṃsā and the Pāṇḍavas’ Departure (वरणावत-प्रशंसा तथा पाण्डव-प्रयाणम्)

न सख्यमजरं लोके हृदि तिष्ठति कस्यचित्‌ । कालो होन॑ विहरति क्रोधो वैनं हरत्युत,लोकमें किसी भी मनुष्यके हृदयमें मैत्री अमिट होकर नहीं रहती। समय एक मित्रको दूसरेसे विलग कर देता है अथवा क्रोध मनुष्यको मित्रतासे हटा देता है

na sakhyam ajaraṁ loke hṛdi tiṣṭhati kasyacit | kālo hi enaṁ viharati krodho vā enaṁ haraty uta ||

In dieser Welt wohnt in keines Menschen Herzen Freundschaft als etwas Unvergängliches und Unalterndes. Die Zeit trennt einen Freund vom anderen; und auch der Zorn kann den Menschen der Freundschaft entreißen.
