Vāraṇāvata-prasaṃsā and the Pāṇḍavas’ Departure (वरणावत-प्रशंसा तथा पाण्डव-प्रयाणम्)

युक्तरूप: स हि गुरुरित्येवमनुचिन्त्य च | अथैनमानीय तदा स्वयमेव सुसत्कृतम्‌,फिर यह सोचकर कि द्रोणाचार्य ही इन कुमारोंके उपयुक्त गुरु हो सकते हैं, भीष्मजी स्वयं ही आकर उन्हें सत्कारपूर्वक घर ले गये। वहाँ शस्त्रधारियोंमें श्रेष्ठ भीष्मने बड़ी बुद्धिमत्ताके साथ द्रोणाचार्यसे उनके आगमनका कारण पूछा और द्रोणने वह सब कारण इस प्रकार निवेदन किया

yuktarūpaḥ sa hi gurur ityevamanucintya ca | athainam ānīya tadā svayameva susatkṛtam |

In dem Gedanken: „Er ist wahrlich der geeignetste Lehrer“, ließ Bhīṣma ihn persönlich holen und erwies ihm gebührende Ehren. Dort fragte Bhīṣma — der Erste unter den Waffenträgern — Droṇa mit kluger Umsicht nach dem Grund seines Kommens, und Droṇa legte ihm die ganze Ursache dar, wie sie war.
