Vāraṇāvata-vivāsana-nīti: Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Duryodhana’s Policy Dialogue

अधिजम्मुर्यथा वेदांस्तपसा ब्रह्मचारिण: । तथा स तपसोपेत: सर्वाण्यस्त्राण्यवाप ह,जैसे अन्य ब्रह्मचारी तपस्यापूर्वक वेदोंका ज्ञान प्राप्त करते हैं, उसी प्रकार उन्होंने तपस्यायुक्त होकर सम्पूर्ण अस्त्र-शस्त्र प्राप्त किये

Adhijagmur yathā vedāṁs tapasā brahmacāriṇaḥ | tathā sa tapasopetaḥ sarvāṇy astrāṇy avāpa ha ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Wie die Brahmacārins durch Tapas — Askese und Zucht — die Meisterschaft über die Veden erlangen, so erlangte auch er, von Tapas erfüllt, alle Waffen.“
