Educational Q&A

Power and specialized knowledge (like weapon-science) should be sought and transmitted within dharma—through proper, śāstra-guided conduct and sincere honour toward the teacher; ethical discipline frames martial capability.

Bhīṣma receives and honours Droṇa according to prescribed rites and proper etiquette; as a result, Droṇa, renowned as the foremost knower of weapons, becomes pleased—signalling the establishment of a respectful relationship around martial instruction.
