Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)

पोथयन्तं महाबाहुं त्वं वै तं ज्ञातुमरहसि । “वह हमलोगोंके पास बेहोशीकी हालतमें आया था, किंतु हमारे डँसनेपर जाग उठा और होशमें आ गया। होशमें आनेपर तो वह महाबाहु अपने सारे बन्धनोंको शीघ्र तोड़कर हमें पछाड़ने लगा है। आप चलकर उसे पहचानें"

vaishampāyana uvāca | pothayantaṃ mahābāhuṃ tvaṃ vai taṃ jñātum arhasi | “sa hy asmākaṃ samīpaṃ mūrcchitaḥ samāgataḥ, kintu asmābhiḥ daṣṭaḥ san prabuddho bhūtvā saṃjñāṃ prāptaḥ | saṃjñāṃ prāpya tu sa mahābāhuḥ sarvān bandhanān śīghraṃ bhittvā asmān parājayituṃ pravṛttaḥ | tvaṃ gatvā taṃ parijānīhi”

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Du solltest jenen mächtigarmigen Mann erkennen, der uns niederstreckt. Er kam in Ohnmacht zu uns; doch als wir ihn bissen, erwachte er und kam wieder zu sich. Kaum bei Sinnen, sprengte dieser gewaltige Krieger rasch alle Fesseln und begann, uns zu überwältigen. Geh hin und identifiziere ihn.“
