स निःसज्रो जलस्यान्तमथ वै पाण्डवोडविशत् । आक्रामन्नागभवने तदा नागकुमारकान्,भीमसेन बेहोशीकी ही दशामें जलके भीतर डूबकर नागलोकमें जा पहुँचे। उस समय कितने ही नागकुमार उनके शरीरसे दब गये। तब बहुत-से महाविषधर नागोंने मिलकर अपनी भयंकर विषवाली बड़ी-बड़ी दाढ़ोंसे भीमसेनको खूब डँसा
sa niḥsajro jalasyāntam atha vai pāṇḍavo 'daviśat | ākrāmann āgabhavane tadā nāgakumārakān |
Vaiśampāyana sprach: In die Tiefe des Wassers hinabgesunken, betrat der Pāṇḍava (Bhīmasena) das Reich der Nāgas. Als er sich in der Nāga-Wohnstatt bewegte, wurden viele junge Nāgas unter seinem Körper zerdrückt. Da scharten sich zahlreiche große, hochgiftige Schlangen und bissen Bhīmasena heftig mit ihren schrecklichen, gifttragenden Fangzähnen.
