Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)

Educational Q&A

Even among future rivals, harmony is possible when minds are free from jealousy and malice; the epic subtly contrasts this natural camaraderie with the later ethical collapse driven by envy and adharma.

After a shared meal (implied by the surrounding context), the Pāṇḍavas and the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, all cheerful, go together to play in the water, depicting a brief period of friendly togetherness.
