Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)
अयं बलवतां श्रेष्ठ: कुन्तीपुत्रो वृकोदर: । मध्यम: पाण्डुपुत्राणां निकृत्या संनिगृह्मुताम्,वह अपने भाइयोंके साथ विचार करने लगा कि “यह मध्यम पाण्डुपुत्र कुन्तीनन्दन भीम बलवानोंमें सबसे बढ़कर है। इसे धोखा देकर कैद कर लेना चाहिये
ayaṃ balavatāṃ śreṣṭhaḥ kuntīputro vṛkodaraḥ | madhyamaḥ pāṇḍuputrāṇāṃ nikṛtyā saṃnigṛhmūtām |
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Dieser Bhīma—Kuntīs Sohn, genannt Vṛkodara—ist der Vortrefflichste unter den Starken und der mittlere unter Pāṇḍus Söhnen. Man soll ihn durch List ergreifen und gefangen setzen.“ Die Zeile hebt eine unethische Strategie hervor: Statt Stärke mit rechtmäßigen Mitteln zu begegnen, wählen die Ränkeschmiede Verrat und unrechtmäßige Haft gegen einen tugendhaften Rivalen.
