Āstravidyā-Pradarśana: The Kuru Princes’ Public Demonstration of Arms (आस्त्रविद्या-प्रदर्शनम्)
The verse frames ethical merit as arising from compassionate assistance and fair sharing—helping another woman (Mādrī) safely ‘cross over’ and participating in the responsibility/benefit of progeny is presented as a dharmic act that yields lasting good fame (kīrti).
Vaiśampāyana narrates an instruction addressed to a ‘blameless’ woman: she is urged to place Mādrī in a boat and ferry her across, and thereby, through a shared arrangement concerning offspring (apatya-saṁvibhāga), to gain excellent renown.
