Educational Q&A

Vidura frames ethical responsibility as parental and pedagogical care: the elder addressed must act not from impulse or partiality but after personal deliberation, choosing what protects the long-term welfare (hita) of the entire dynasty (kula).

In the Adi Parva context, Vidura offers respectful counsel to a senior authority figure, emphasizing their role as guardian and guide of the family, and urging them to decide and act for the collective good of the Kuru household.
