सम्प्राप्तयौवनं दृष्टवा भ्रातरं धीमतां वर: । भीष्मो विचित्रवीर्यस्य विवाहायाकरोन्मतिम्,जब विचित्रवीर्य धीरे-धीरे युवावस्थामें पहुँचे, तब बुद्धिमानोंमें श्रेष्ठ भीष्मजीने उनकी वह अवस्था देख विचित्रवीर्यके विवाहका विचार किया
samprāptayauvanaṁ dṛṣṭvā bhrātaraṁ dhīmatāṁ varaḥ | bhīṣmo vicitravīryasya vivāhāyākaron matim ||
Als er sah, dass sein Bruder Vicitravīrya die Jugend erreicht hatte, richtete Bhīṣma — der Vortrefflichste unter den Weisen — seinen Sinn darauf, Vicitravīryas Vermählung zu arrangieren.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights rajadharma and familial responsibility: when a prince comes of age, elders must act prudently to secure lawful succession and the welfare of the kingdom through appropriate marriage alliances.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Bhīṣma notices Vicitravīrya has reached youth and therefore resolves to arrange his marriage, setting in motion the events that will shape the Kuru lineage.
