Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 103 — Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Gāndhārī Vivāha: Proposal, Consent, and the Vow

सम्प्राप्तयौवनं दृष्टवा भ्रातरं धीमतां वर: । भीष्मो विचित्रवीर्यस्य विवाहायाकरोन्मतिम्‌,जब विचित्रवीर्य धीरे-धीरे युवावस्थामें पहुँचे, तब बुद्धिमानोंमें श्रेष्ठ भीष्मजीने उनकी वह अवस्था देख विचित्रवीर्यके विवाहका विचार किया

samprāptayauvanaṁ dṛṣṭvā bhrātaraṁ dhīmatāṁ varaḥ | bhīṣmo vicitravīryasya vivāhāyākaron matim ||

Als er sah, dass sein Bruder Vicitravīrya die Jugend erreicht hatte, richtete Bhīṣma — der Vortrefflichste unter den Weisen — seinen Sinn darauf, Vicitravīryas Vermählung zu arrangieren.
