Kuru Prosperity under Bhīṣma and the Succession of Pāṇḍu (कुरुराष्ट्रसमृद्धिः पाण्डुराज्यप्राप्तिश्च)

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights rajadharma and guardianship: a protector like Bhīṣma prioritizes the continuity and stability of the kingdom and lineage, even when the rightful heir is still underage, by formally establishing legitimate rule.

Bhīṣma performs the royal installation (abhiṣeka) of Vicitravīrya, who is still a boy not yet in youth, placing him on the throne of the Kuru kingdom to secure lawful succession.
