असंशयं ध्यानपरो यथा वत्स तथा शृणु । अपत्यं नस्त्वमेवैक: कुले महति भारत,“बेटा! इसमें संदेह नहीं कि मैं चिन्तामें डूबा रहता हूँ। वह चिन्ता कैसी है, सो बताता हूँ, सुनो। भारत! तुम इस विशाल वंशमें मेरे एक ही पुत्र हो

asaṃśayaṃ dhyānaparo yathā vatsa tathā śṛṇu | apatyaṃ nas tvam evāikaḥ kule mahati bhārata ||

Vaiśaṃpāyana sprach: „Ohne jeden Zweifel, mein Kind, ist mein Geist in sorgenvollen Gedanken versunken. Was diese Sorge ist—höre, mein Sohn. O Bhārata, in diesem großen Geschlecht bist du mein einziges Kind.“
