सर्वतो भवतः: क्षेमं विधेया: सर्वपार्थिवा: । तत्‌ किमर्थमिहाभी क्ष्णं परिशोचसि दु:खित:,“पिताजी! आपका तो सब ओरसे कुशल-मंगल है, भू-मण्डलके सभी नरेश आपकी आज्ञाके अधीन हैं; फिर किसलिये आप निरन्तर दुःखी होकर शोक और चिन्तामें डूबे रहते हैं

sarvato bhavataḥ kṣemaṃ vidheyāḥ sarvapārthivāḥ | tat kimartham ihābhīkṣṇaṃ pariśocasi duḥkhitaḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Von allen Seiten ist dein Wohlergehen gesichert; alle Könige der Erde stehen gehorsam unter deinem Befehl. Warum also bleibst du unablässig bekümmert und versinkst immer wieder in Kummer und ängstliches Grübeln?“
