समयेन प्रदद्यां ते कन््यामहमिमां नृप । न हि मे त्वत्सम: कश्चिद् वरो जातु भविष्यति,“राजन! मैं इस कनन््याको एक शर्तके साथ आपकी सेवामें दूँगा। मुझे आपके समान दूसरा कोई श्रेष्ठ वर कभी नहीं मिलेगा”
samayena pradadyāṃ te kanyām aham imāṃ nṛpa | na hi me tvat-samaḥ kaścid varo jātu bhaviṣyati ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O König, ich werde dir dieses Mädchen geben, doch nur unter einer festgesetzten Bedingung. Denn für mich wird es niemals einen Bräutigam geben, der dir gleichkommt.“
