नियोगप्रसङ्गः — The Niyoga Episode: Births of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, Pāṇḍu, and Vidura

अथाश्रमपदं प्राप्त: फलान्यादाय वारुणि: । न चापश्यत्‌ स गां तत्र सवत्सां काननोत्तमे,कुछ समयके बाद वरुणनन्दन वसिष्ठजी फल-मूल लेकर आश्रमपर आये; परंतु उस सुन्दर काननमें उन्हें बछड़ेसहित अपनी गाय नहीं दिखायी दी

athāśramapadaṃ prāptaḥ phalāny ādāya vāruṇiḥ | na cāpaśyat sa gāṃ tatra savatsāṃ kānanottame ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Nach einiger Zeit kehrte Vāruṇi, der Sohn Varuṇas, mit Früchten zur Einsiedelei zurück. Doch in jenem schönsten Waldhain sah er seine Kuh dort nicht — auch ihr Kalb nicht.
