Adhyaya 8: Yogasthanas, Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama-Siddhi, and Shiva-Dhyana leading to Samadhi

स्नानं विधानतः सम्यक् पश्चाद् आभ्यन्तरं चरेत् आ देहान्तं मृदालिप्य तीर्थतोयेषु सर्वदा

snānaṃ vidhānataḥ samyak paścād ābhyantaraṃ caret ā dehāntaṃ mṛdālipya tīrthatoyeṣu sarvadā

Nachdem das Bad gemäß der Vorschrift richtig vollzogen wurde, soll man danach die innere Reinigung aufnehmen. Man bestreiche den Körper von Kopf bis Fuß mit reinigender Erde und bade stets in den Wassern der tīrthas, damit der paśu —die gebundene Seele— würdig werde, Pati, den Herrn Śiva, zu verehren.
