Adhyaya 40: Kali-yuga Lakshana, Yuga-sandhyamsha, and the Re-emergence of Dharma

अक्षत्रियाश् च राजानो विप्राः शूद्रोपजीविनः आसनस्था द्विजान्दृष्ट्वा न चलन्त्यल्पबुद्धयः
Transliteration
akṣatriyāś ca rājāno viprāḥ śūdropajīvinaḥ āsanasthā dvijāndṛṣṭvā na calantyalpabuddhayaḥ
Translation
Selbst Könige, die keine wahren Kṣatriyas sind, und Brāhmaṇas, die vom Erwerb der Śūdras leben—wenn sie sitzen und die Dvijas (die „Zweimalgeborenen“) sehen, stehen sie nicht auf; solche Menschen sind von geringem Verstand. In śaivischer Sicht ist dies ein Zeichen von durch pāśa gebundenem Verhalten: das Versäumnis, dharma zu ehren, hemmt die Läuterung des paśu und seine Bereitschaft für Śivas Gnade (anugraha).
