Transliteration

sarveṣāmeva bhūtānāṃ balidānaṃ vidhānataḥ bhūtayajña iti prokto bhūtidaḥ sarvadehinām

Translation

Die rituell vorgeschriebene Darbringung von bali an alle Wesen wird Bhūta-yajña genannt; sie ist die heilige Handlung, die allen verkörperten Seelen (paśu) Wohlergehen und Nahrung gewährt.
