It models the foundational puja-etiquette that supports Linga-upāsanā: honoring venerable sages and performing rightward pradakṣiṇā, which cultivates purity (śuddhi) and receptivity to Śiva’s grace (anugraha).
Though Śiva is not named, the verse implies a Shaiva principle: access to Pati (the Lord) is stabilized through dharma—humility, respect for the guru-line and brahminical guardians of mantra—reducing pasha (bondage) in the pashu (individual soul).
Pradakṣiṇā performed three times with reverence—an outward ritual that also functions as inner discipline, training the mind toward surrender (śaraṇāgati), a key prerequisite for Pāśupata-oriented sādhanā.
