FAQs

It does not teach Ātman metaphysics directly; it teaches dharma through karma-phala: deluded, dishonest conduct toward a vowed invitation produces a degrading rebirth, implying moral causality within the cosmic order upheld by the Supreme.

No specific yogic technique is described; the verse supports yogic discipline indirectly by stressing saṃyama (self-restraint) and satya/ṛju-bhāva (truthfulness and integrity) as ethical foundations that stabilize spiritual practice.

It does not explicitly mention Shiva–Vishnu unity; it reflects the shared Purāṇic ethic that dharma is one—protected by Īśvara—so social-religious integrity (especially toward sacred guests) is spiritually consequential.
