FAQs

Indirectly: it frames self-discipline and reverence (vinaya) as prerequisites for śreyas (highest good), which in Purāṇic yoga-dharma supports inner purification needed for realizing the Self.

No technique is named; the verse highlights yama-like ethical discipline—guru-bhakti, restraint, and purity of conduct—as the ground on which Pāśupata-oriented devotion and yoga mature.

It does not explicitly mention Śiva–Viṣṇu unity; it supports the shared dharmic base emphasized across the Kūrma Purāṇa, where ethical purification is presented as common preparation for devotion to the Supreme, whether taught in Śaiva or Vaiṣṇava idiom.
