FAQs

This verse is primarily cosmographical and political, describing dharmic governance; it implies Atman-centered dharma indirectly by portraying righteous order (nyāya) as the proper expression of a king’s duty, rather than offering a direct teaching on the Self.

No explicit yoga practice is taught in this verse; its emphasis is on dharma in administration—rightful division and allotment—which the Kurma Purana elsewhere aligns with inner discipline and ethical restraint as foundations supportive of yoga.

This verse does not directly address Shiva–Vishnu unity; it sits in the Purana’s cosmology and royal-dharma narrative layer that complements the text’s broader synthesis found more explicitly in its later theological and yogic sections.
