Adhyāya 25 — Liṅga-māhātmya (The Chapter on the Liṅga): Hari’s Śiva-Worship and the Fiery Pillar Theophany
Primary Rasa: shringara
Secondary Rasa: shanta
By portraying Acyuta as self-luminous (“bhrājate”), the verse hints at the divine as inherently radiant and complete, not dependent on external support—an aesthetic echo of the Self’s intrinsic luminosity.
No explicit practice is taught in this verse; it supports a devotional contemplation (dhyāna) on the Lord’s auspicious form with his śakti/consort—often used as an aid for one-pointed remembrance in bhakti-oriented meditation.
Indirectly, it uses a pan-Purāṇic theological idiom—God attended by Goddess—compatible with both Vaiṣṇava and Śaiva frameworks where the Supreme is understood along with śakti, supporting the Kurma Purana’s synthetic tone.
