Dakṣa-yajña-bhaṅgaḥ — Dadhīci’s Teaching and the Destruction of Dakṣa’s Sacrifice

Traditional Purāṇic narrator (Vyāsa) teaching dharma; framed within the Kurma Purana’s instruction on proper conduct and worship

Primary Rasa: raudra

Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka

FAQs

Indirectly: it emphasizes dharmic discernment (viveka) in worship and conduct, which purifies the mind—an essential prerequisite for realizing the Atman in the Kurma Purana’s broader spiritual framework.

No technique is named, but the verse highlights ethical discipline and right valuation (who/what is worthy of reverence). In the Kurma Purana’s sādhanā logic, such purity of conduct supports mantra-japa, devotion, and meditative steadiness central to Pashupata-oriented practice.

It does not name Shiva or Vishnu; its principle is non-sectarian: true worship must be aligned with dharma and worthiness, fitting the Kurma Purana’s broader Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis where reverence is guided by right understanding rather than mere faction.
