The verse supports contemplative absorption (dhyāna/samādhi) on the stainless Reality beyond māyā—an Ishvara Gita theme aligned with Pāśupata-oriented discipline: purifying the mind and meditating on the Supreme as both immanent (many) and transcendent (beyond māyā).
By praising Mahāmāheśvarī (Śiva’s supreme Śakti) within the Ishvara Gita taught by Lord Kurma (Vishnu), it reflects the Purana’s synthesis: the same Supreme Truth is honored through Śaiva-Shākta language without contradicting Vaiṣṇava revelation.
