Vidradhi–Gulma Nidāna
Causes and Signs of Abscess and Abdominal Mass

It links uncontrolled sensual indulgence with specific bodily disorders, using medical imagery to encourage restraint and disciplined living (dharma) as a protective principle.
The Purana frequently frames suffering—physical or post-mortem—as arising from misdirected desire; here, the lesson is conveyed through a concrete example of disease to emphasize self-control.
Practice moderation, maintain ethical conduct in relationships, and treat desire with awareness; the verse’s takeaway is preventive discipline rather than indulgence that leads to harm.
