Kardama Muni’s Penance, Viṣṇu’s Darśana, and the Arrangement of Devahūti’s Marriage
This verse indicates that Manu foresees Kardama Muni’s divine generative potency manifesting as ninefold progeny—understood in context as the nine daughters who become pivotal for the expansion of creation through saintly lineages.
Manu is requesting and affirming Kardama Muni’s role in universal administration: through Kardama’s potency and the sages’ participation, population and dharmic social order will expand according to the Lord’s plan.
It highlights responsible, dharma-guided family and social contribution: spiritual integrity and clear intention should guide one’s generative power—whether in raising children, creating institutions, or serving society.
