It is to be understood that the Haṁsa-guhya prayers were not composed by Dakṣa, but were existing in the Vedic literature.
It is a confidential hymn of praise to the Supreme Lord (Adhokṣaja) that Śukadeva Gosvāmī is about to narrate, presented as a prayer that fully satisfies Lord Hari.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī speaks to King Parīkṣit, introducing the Haṁsa-guhya prayers and indicating that they are especially pleasing to Lord Hari.
It emphasizes hearing and reciting authentic prayers that glorify the Lord beyond sensory perception (Adhokṣaja), cultivating bhakti through sincere stuti and attentive śravaṇa.
