Ajāmila Delivered: Viṣṇudūtas Establish the Supremacy of the Holy Name

so ’haṁ tathā yatiṣyāmi yata-cittendriyānilaḥ yathā na bhūya ātmānam andhe tamasi majjaye

Every one of us should have this determination. We have been elevated to an exalted position by the mercy of Kṛṣṇa and the spiritual master, and if we remember that this is a great opportunity and pray to Kṛṣṇa that we will not fall again, our lives will be successful.

FAQs

In this verse Ajāmila resolves to restrain mind, senses, and prāṇa so he will not again fall into the darkness of ignorance—showing that inner discipline supports spiritual awakening.

Having been rescued from Yamadūtas and reminded of the Lord’s mercy, Ajāmila expresses repentance and vows to reform his life through self-control and spiritual effort.

Adopt daily restraint—regulated habits, mindful speech, and devotional remembrance—so old patterns do not pull one back into confusion and spiritual forgetfulness.
