Vṛtrāsura Rebukes Indra; Heroic Combat and the Asura’s Pure Devotional Prayers
This verse highlights Vṛtrāsura’s extraordinary prowess: he catches Indra’s massive, unbearable mace with his left hand as if it were a mere plaything.
Indra, enraged upon seeing Vṛtrāsura charging toward him, attacks by throwing a great mace—showing the intensity of the battlefield encounter described by Śukadeva.
The verse teaches steadiness under pressure—when faced with overwhelming force, one can cultivate composure and fearlessness rather than panic.
