Avatāra-kathā — The Puruṣa, the Many Incarnations, and Kṛṣṇa as Svayam Bhagavān
Those who are comparatively less powerful are called vibhūti, and those who are comparatively more powerful are called āveśa incarnations.
This verse states that sages, Manus, demigods, Manu’s sons, and the Prajāpatis are all kalās—partial portions—of Hari, indicating their power ultimately comes from the Supreme Lord.
In the context of listing divine manifestations, Sūta Gosvāmī establishes theological hierarchy: many exalted beings administer the universe, yet their authority is derived from Hari, the ultimate source.
Offer respect to all elevated beings and authorities, but place your primary refuge and devotion in God (Hari), remembering that all strength and ability ultimately flow from Him.
