The Birth of Mahārāja Parīkṣit and Prophecies of His Greatness
This verse shows brāhmaṇas affirming the child’s rightful place in the Puru/Paurava line, indicating that dharmic kingship is confirmed through sacred authority, virtue, and proper succession.
They were pleased with the king’s humility and proper conduct, and therefore blessed/confirmed the child’s connection to the noble Paurava lineage.
Humility—shown through respectful speech and receptivity to wise counsel—builds trust and invites guidance, just as the king’s demeanor drew the brāhmaṇas’ favorable words.
