Paraśurāma Avenges Jamadagni; Restoration Through Sacrifice; Viśvāmitra’s Line and Devarāta (Śunaḥśepha)
वरेणच्छन्दयामास प्रीत: सत्यवतीसुत: । वव्रे हतानां रामोऽपि जीवितं चास्मृतिं वधे ॥ ७ ॥
vareṇa cchandayām āsa prītaḥ satyavatī-sutaḥ vavre hatānāṁ rāmo ’pi jīvitaṁ cāsmṛtiṁ vadhe
Jamadagni, der Sohn Satyavatīs, war hoch erfreut und sagte: „Wähle eine Gabe nach deinem Wunsch.“ Rama erwiderte: „Mögen meine Mutter und Brüder, die ich getötet habe, wieder leben, und mögen sie sich nicht daran erinnern, von mir getötet worden zu sein; das ist der Segen, um den ich bitte.“
