Nanda Mahārāja Celebrates Kṛṣṇa’s Birth; Vasudeva Warns of Danger
तं दृष्ट्वा सहसोत्थाय देह: प्राणमिवागतम् । प्रीत: प्रियतमं दोर्भ्यां सस्वजे प्रेमविह्वल: ॥ २१ ॥
taṁ dṛṣṭvā sahasotthāya dehaḥ prāṇam ivāgatam prītaḥ priyatamaṁ dorbhyāṁ sasvaje prema-vihvalaḥ
Als er ihn sah, sprang Nanda sofort auf, als hätte sein Körper das Leben zurückerhalten. Von Liebe überwältigt umarmte er den überaus geliebten Vasudeva mit beiden Armen.
Nanda Mahārāja was older than Vasudeva. Therefore Nanda Mahārāja embraced him, and Vasudeva offered him namaskāra.

Because Vasudeva was his dearest friend and well-wisher; their reunion in Gokula naturally overflowed into an affectionate embrace.
