Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma’s Forest Games and the Slaying of Pralamba
आशिषोऽभिगृणन्तस्तं प्रशशंसुस्तदर्हणम् । प्रेत्यागतमिवालिङ्ग्य प्रेमविह्वलचेतस: ॥ ३१ ॥
āśiṣo ’bhigṛṇantas taṁ praśaśaṁsus tad-arhaṇam pretyāgatam ivāliṅgya prema-vihvala-cetasaḥ
Sie spendeten Ihm viele Segenswünsche und priesen Ihn, der aller Verherrlichung würdig ist. Von ekstatischer Liebe überwältigt, umarmten sie Balarāma, als wäre Er vom Tod zurückgekehrt.
It shows their love is so intense and selfless that they bless, praise, and embrace Kṛṣṇa with hearts overwhelmed—treating His safe return as if He had come back from death.
In the narrative, Kṛṣṇa’s danger has just passed, and their fear for His safety turns into ecstatic relief; their embrace expresses the depth of their attachment and protective affection.
It encourages cultivating heartfelt gratitude and affectionate remembrance of the Lord—responding to His protection with sincere praise, prayerful blessings, and loving devotion rather than mere formality.
