It introduces Advaita-brahma-vijñāna—realized knowledge of the non-dual Brahman—framed as a teaching delivered by Agni in response to a seeker’s request, alongside the preparatory disciplines of tapas and Vāsudeva-arcana.
It shows the text’s scope extending beyond ritual and worldly disciplines into mokṣa-śāstra: a Vedāntic, philosophical module (Advaita) embedded within the Purāṇa’s multi-topic compendium.
It links liberation-oriented knowledge with purificatory practice: austerity at a sacred tīrtha (Śālagrāma) and devotion to Vāsudeva are presented as supportive means that prepare the mind for non-dual realization.
